Description
Elyn Eflornithine Cream is used to treat facial hair growth that is excessive (facial hirsutism). It reduces the growth of unwanted hair around the lips and under the chin.
Clinical studies have shown that eflornithine can be used to treat and remove unwanted facial hair. The treatment works by inhibiting the enzyme ornithine decarboxylase, which is necessary for hair growth in the skin, slowing hair growth and making hair lighter. Gradual improvement in the condition is observed.
When used twice daily with at least 8 hours in between treatments, you may see results in 4-8 weeks; individual results may vary. It is also recommended that you continue with your usual hair removal treatment, as this product is meant to be used in conjunction with any other hair removal techniques already in use.
Elyn Cream should only be used on the outside of the body. Apply the cream to freshly cleansed and dried skin, or as directed by your physician. Before and after using this medicine, thoroughly wash your hands. To get the most benefit from this medicine, it should be taken on a regular basis. If you use more than you need, your condition will not improve faster, and some side effects may worsen.
Cautions
Before using Elyn cream, consult your doctor; if irritation occurs, stop using Elyn cream.
